Answering the Door When Opportunity Knocks.

It has been a little bit since I have had a chance to write. But, I have some exciting news. I have been asked to help a very close friend with a project.

This year, despite the rocky start, I had decided I would push myself outside of my comfort zone and if opportunities arose I would try my best to take them. One such opportunity knocked on my dorr recently. My very good friend, Mama Di who is the creator of The Modern Goddess Project has asked me to help create some content for her site. The first undertaking, I am very excited about this, is going to be a 13 week workshop exploring Goddess energy and how we can open to the Divine Femine in our lives and work with it to create a reality that truly fulfills us.

While this is currently in the planning phase, I will be sharing more information as it evolves. I wanted to take a moment though to mention it here. I do highly reccomend my readers take a look at the website. I am excited to be part of this as it grows and I can’t wait to see what comes from this endeavor.

Now, let’s talk about the idea of answering the door when opportunity knocks. I don’t know how other people feel when things come up but I know in the past I would consider things, but I might not actually take the leap of faith to accept an opportunity. Many times I would fall victim to my inner critic who would list fifty different reasons why I shouldn’t do something. Looking back I can see many opportunities I dind’t take due to this self defeating pattern. And this year I have decided that I will no longer let that tiny inner demon defeat me any longer.

One of the things that I enjoy the most and feel most fulfilled doing is to help others find their path, and to assist others in becoming more spiritually fulfilled. It has long been a dream to spend time doing this, in fact, I have many times wished I didn’t have to worry about things like bills so that I can focus on that pursuit. But, I never really took opportunities that could help put me in a space where I could do what I had always dreamed of.

Taking an opportunity can be scary, sometimes it forces you out of your comfort zone and makes you explore different aspects of yourself. But it can be exciting too, and can lead to many amazing experiences. Sometiems we talk ourselves out of wonderful chances for growth by allowing our inner critical demon to wriggle their way into our thoughts and take over. It can be hard to get past that pattern, for me it took looking at where I was and realizing it wasn’t as fulfilling as I wanted it to me. It also took a very long time of living with this indescribable yearning for something more. In fact, that yearning, had plagued me for years. I realized that part of the reason I had that yearning was because I was not allowing myself to take opportunities when they are presented.

Taking the leap of faith and accepting an opportunity is still scary, but I have come to the realization that even if I fail, I have learned something and can try things differently next time. This has helped me to be able to grasp a chance when it comes up.

When we walk in Frith with our Inner Divine Guide, we can more fully trust our instincts and will know what opportunites are the best for us to take in order to make our dreams come true. One of the first steps in moving toward having faith in opportunities is to allow ourselves to dream. So, what is it you dream you had? What do you wish was part of your reality? Once we recoginize this, we can more easily recognize corresponding opportunites.

What opportunities would help you to acheive your dreams? In the past, what has kept you from accepting an opportunity? If you have a list of reasons why you shouldn’t take an opportunity when it is presented, how many of them are valid? If you are unsure, I would suggest finding someone that you trust that you can talk through these reasons, you may find they are not as valid as you think.

Keep your eyes open, and take that leap of faith. Instead of asking yourself what’s the worst that can happen, ask you self what could you gain from this?
