Just a Witchy Mountain Girl

It is geting late and I am seated at my dinning table, in my hundred year old house. On clear days the window frames the looming snow covered scene that has watched me grow up. I was lucky enough to be born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, my childhood played out under the shadow of that beautiful well known Mountain. After leaving the area for a decade , and then returning home, I relaized how much I had counted on that landmark, to watch over me, to greet me in the morning and see me home at night.

I have lived 30 of my soon to be 40 years under te shadow of Pikes Peak. My family has lived in this area for many generations (7 to be exact), my ancestors helped to build this town and it is here I feel them. I used to joke that I had Colorado dirt in my blood, but until I lived elsewhere I did not know how true that statement was.

The Rocky Mountains, their surrounding foothills and the Eastern Slope is where I grew up and played. It is where I learned about energy and began to explore the concepts of magical thought and Goddess Spirituality. And so I consider myself a witchy mountain girl.

My time outside of Colorado, actually saw me living in another one of our country’s mountain ranges: the Ozarks. There I learned from differnt types of people and energies, I learned the different energies that exist, and I learned to understand the energies that I was used to. My time in Missouri, helped me to free myself and learn of different mountain energy, but it was mountain energy all the same.

While I was there I was able to share my point of view and to help those who are seeking. That was incredibly fulfilling work for me and it is something I want to continue doing, and so I embark with this blog. I want to share my magical journey with others and help those just beginning their journey.

Magical and Spiritual Living covers so many different areas of life and so many different topics. It is woven into the fabic of every moment of everyday of our lives. I want to share the mystical, the magical, the awe-inspiring and even the mundane, as it is all these moments that make up a “witchy” life.

And so with these words, I offer you a welcome into my witchy mountain life. I welcome you at my table, please pull up a chair, stay and chat a while…
